Popterror

In less than a week we will release Popterror´s marvelous four track EP debut “Allt vi gjort har du glömt”, from where Swedish national radio P3 have play listed “Det är nåt som händer”. Because of that I have asked Popterror´s Simon a couple of questions. So here we go;

First of all, who are you answering these questions and what is your role within the band?

I’m Simon Österhof, and I play the bass and sing backup. I’m also most likely to provide milk for the coffee.

Popterror, what can you tell us about the band?

First and foremost, Popterror is a group of friends. The first sign of Popterror came a few years back when me and Jocke, who sings, started the music blog Popterror. Some months later, Jocke and Emil took the concept further when they started the club Popterror. When not even that was enough to get all the pop out, we formed the band Popterror.

That was a really cool story, even better that it´s a true one. Never the less, very soon indeed its time for the release of your first EP “Allt vi gjort har du glömt”, what kind of expectations do you have, any specific goal you want to achieve?

I can honestly say that any expectations we might have had have already been met and then some. We have a great time doing this and we hope people will enjoy it as much as we do, and above all else, come watch us play live and try to keep up with Robins dance moves.

And talking about this first EP, can we expect more stuff later on from you guys, anything scheduled right now?

We’re having too much fun to stop now. We will be recording a few more songs in September. It’s hard to say if it’ll become another EP, a single or something else, but we definitely hope to share it with people in some way later this year or next year.

I have also noticed that you have played live several times around the country, which of course are great, but who is, by your opinion, your best gig so far and why´s that?

In late July we played at Storsjöyran in Östersund. It was special because it was the first time all six of us played live together, and because five of us grew up in that area. In such conditions, and with such a great audience, it’d be difficult to not have the time of your life.

I certainly understand. Last, you are six members in the band, do you altogether have one common act (band/artist) that you all like, in that case who´s that?

There’s actually loads of stuff we all like. Håkan Hellström, Autisterna, Väärt, Säkert!, Industri Royal, Shout Out Louds, Bedroom Eyes, to name just a few.

Thanks a lot Simon. And to be honest, I do notice that Popterror are quite patriotic when it comes to the selection of music, which by all means are great.
